I'm always a day or two behind. Sorry, I just don't have the time with 8 kids. Anyway, Wanted to continue the 81 discussion with some suggestions not yet mentioned.

3/28/81 Grugahalle, Essen, West Germany -Pete Townsend in 2nd set - people are often over critical of this set because of the sky high expectations of Townsend on stage

10/6/81 Rainbow Theater, London, England - Estimated Prophet-> He's Gone-> Drums-> Blues For Allah Jam-> The Wheel-> Sugar Magnolia-> Stella Blue-> Good Lovin', E:Sunshine Daydream->Brokedown Palace Jerry is so soulful in this one. Check out Stella, at the very end Jerry just flips out and they drop into GLovin. You could tell Jerry was havin fun in Set 1 - during Might as well he sings "Jug band music in the ol' caboose"

3/10/81 Madison Square Garden, New York, N.Y. - This is the show where part of the drum set falls over in 1/2 step - Hot Scarlet/Fire - Well played overall - Wheel>China Doll>Truckin>Jam>Sugar Mags out of space and a Double Encore Satisfaction>Brokedown

5/4/81 The Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pa.- Funky and long first set - 11 tunes. Open with Don't Ease, throw in a Jack A Roe, Cold Rain mid set, Althea and close it with Bertha>GSET. Second set has a great To Lay me Down and Space>Nobody's Fault but Mine (W/ vocals)>Sailor>Saint

This aud is one of THE great audience tapes of the early Mydland era IMO.

2/27/81 very nice 2nd set

5/15/81 gotta throw that one in since I went to Rutgers but it's really a great show.

5/16/81 Barton Hall...enough said

7/5/81 Zoo...great Shakedown, very nice 2nd set Music Never

8/27/81 Long Beach. The best "unheard of" show I ever found. Most people like the next night (due to the SBD?) but this is a top 10 show. Best Eyes I've heard, return of Cumberland, Scarlet/Fire, great Birdsong & Passenger. What else could you want? The aud is ok as well...get this show!

9/25/81 Bethlehem show is awesome and a SBD is available

10/19/81 Barcelona...Jerry is very creative on his solos. Great sbd as well.

You really cant find a bad 1981 show. I believe Feb 1981 to Oct 1982 was Jerry at his best and the band at their best post 1977.

Rutgers huh? I loved that show. Were you there in 81? Did you catch any of the Jerry Band shows at the Barn 77, 80 or Livingston Coll. Gym 82?

I had 2 sisters that graduated from RU and I have 2 kids there now, living on College Ave. Great school IMO.

I created nice CD trays for this show (5-15) but the PDF's are too large to load here as attachments. If your interested, give me your email and I'll send them to ya.

Merry Chistmas and Peace on Earth.
